Point of View
Emotion makes the message stick. Tell the story.
Explain the reason. But story and reason are meaningless unless
the viewer connects emotionally and that's done with design: light,
texture, music and sound, color, tone of voice, rhythm, pace. Pit
reason against emotion and emotion wins every time. Creating emotional
response is the basis and power of brand and all the work I create.
What I do
Clients need advertising and
brand imaging that cuts through, that makes a powerful emotional impact.
Budget doesn't account for much. There are loads of million dollar
spots no one remembers. Only one thing really matters: a powerful
idea presented in a poweful way. Whether I direct,
produce, edit, compose, or design, that's what I work to create. The last spot here, Thunderhead TV:30, is a good example. Dollywood
wanted to announce their new wooden roller-coaster. One problem.
It wasn't built yet. So, I made the spot with "smoke and
mirrors" - as the saying goes. I have shot around the world on budgets high and low and pride myself on solving creative and production problems to create powerful, award winning work that gets results.
